Sintra is not a neighbourhood-walk sort of place — it is where we go when a dog needs real forest. It is the most frequent destination for our five-hour journeys.

Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais
Real forest, with long trails and shade for most of the route. This is where many of our journeys go.
Serra de Sintra — trilhos
Demanding climbs and a lot of damp. Excellent for genuinely energetic dogs, hard on older ones.
The ground
Damp, shaded and demanding. The climbs are long and the footing is uneven and often slippery. Excellent for dogs in good condition, and too much for older or flat-faced ones.
