Dog walking in Príncipe Real
Príncipe Real is beautiful and it is hard work. The garden is small for the number of people using it, and at weekends the market fills everything — excellent for a sociable dog, a lot for one that is not.
Where we walk here
Jardim do Príncipe Real
The enormous cedar and the terrace beneath it. Very busy at weekends — much better early.
Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Lisboa (envolvente)
The streets around it are shaded and quiet, which suits noise-sensitive dogs.
The ground
Narrow streets, terraces spilling across the pavement and constant traffic. Reactive dogs do far better early in the morning, or on the shaded side streets by the botanical garden.
